MICHELLE TUMES:
It was a long time ago in Nashville. I was really young, and my visa was coming up. I wasn’t signed to a record label, and I was running out of money. I said to God, “Look, Lord, I need an answer right now.” I wasn’t trying to threaten God or anything. I said, “I’m going to have to go home to Australia if nothing is happening here. I just want to let you know I’m open to doing that, but I don’t want to.” I was staying at a friend’s place. I walked their dog outside, came back in, and there was a message on the answering machine from Sparrow Records. That was a prayer that was immediately answered. I’ll never forget that.
